Technology
Primer-dimers cause false negatives. We engineered them out.
CoSara kits use Co-Primers® — a proprietary primer technology, powered by Co-Diagnostics, that improves specificity and reduces false results.
Co-Primers®
Raising the bar for multiplex PCR testing
PCR transformed molecular biology, and real-time PCR extended it further into everyday clinical use. The next frontier is multiplex PCR — testing for several targets in a single reaction — but standard primer chemistry struggles at scale: the more primers in a reaction, the more likely they are to bind to each other instead of the target, producing primer-dimers and false results.
Co-Primers® technology was built to solve exactly this problem. Its two-part architecture prevents primer-dimer propagation by design, rather than managing around it.
Faster cycling
Higher specificity
Easier multiplexing
How it works
Two segments. One condition for a match.
A standard primer binds directly to the target sequence — a single point of contact that primer-dimers can exploit. A Co-Primer splits that job into two segments, joined by a chemical linker, that must both recognize the target before amplification proceeds. A dimer can’t satisfy that condition, so it’s never amplified.
This design also simplifies the assay itself: a hydrolysis probe (the kind used in TaqMan-style chemistry) can be built directly into the capture segment, reducing the number of separate components needed to run a real-time PCR reaction. And because Co-Primer sequences are short by design, they’re compatible with melting-curve analysis using standard double-stranded DNA dyes — giving assay designers more than one way to read a result.

One test, multiple targets
One test. Multiple targets.
Multiplex PCR identifies several infections in a single reaction — reducing both time and cost per diagnosis.
